Oh hi there, didn't see you...

So, it's been a while.

And I mean a really really really long time.

Now that I come to think of it...3 months exactly (to the day)!

Well, in that time I finally finish my junior year that seemed to be interminable. I took a plethora of AP Exams (Spanish Lit, Lang, and Chem just to name a few...), SAT IIs, and finals -- just lots of testing in general. I also had my prom...

It's hard to believe I'm actually a senior, and I can't wait for what's in store for next year!

During my hiatus I fell in love with:
1. zucchini pasta. nomnomnom
2. coconut butter. again, nomnomnom
3. jack johnson's album to the sea

Broke up with:
1. dairy :(
2. and that's it!

So here's my pledge not to disappear again...at least not for 3 months :)

Still waiting (and running)...

Still waiting on my delivery!

I saw a UPS truck (actually I almost ran into the delivery man - I was really into the song I was listening to ("Nighttiming" by Coconut Records)) and I was really tempted to see if my package was hiding in there. I refrained and now I am just patiently waiting to try out these new kicks.

I went for a run this morning...an easy 5 miler with some moderate hills and it felt great! I'm going to get my paws and claws done because it's finally sandal season. Crossing my fingers that the shoes come in before it's too dark to go for a run!

Delivery!

Two nights ago I resorted to retail therapy (horrible horrible horrible day) and I ended the night purchasing a pair of Vibram's five finger shoes. I know, retail therapy is bad; you always end up spending money on something you probably didn't need but I am going to try to "rationalize" this purchase.

Let's see:
Reason #1 - The shoes, if you are not familiar with them, are supposed to reinforce correct alignment (which I have always struggled with - hence my bum knees and back at age 16). Clearly I need some of that. Additionally, they force your feet to actually work during a workout so they are not just flopping around while your leg muscles do all the work.

Reason #2 - I am obsessed with shoes - like Carrie Bradshaw obsessed with her Manolos obsessed ('nuff said!).

Reason #3 - My hypertraditional sneakers were starting to bother me. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my asics...they have done so much for my form! But, I started to wonder if there was an alternative...

Reason #4 - I finally started running again after a three week hiatus and wanted to welcome myself back to the pavement with a little present.

So I ended up getting these http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/products/products_classic_f.cfm in hot pink. Because if I am going to look like a runner with alien feet I at least want to do it in an Elle Woods fashion.

UPS couldn't find my house today...lucky me. So they won't make it in time for my morning run but maybe I can squeeze in a quickie at dusk just to give them a whirl? I'll let you know how they go. And obviously how I go with them!

Hello Blogosphere!

Hello world...or whoever may be out there.

This is me, embarking on a new journey into new uncharted waters. I am of the 'techno generation' so I feel like this was bound to happen at some point or later. I haven't had a chance to go to a book store recently, so I turned to the internet for some leisurely reading. What I thought would come up as just stories and moments of people's lives turned out to be so much more. I stumbled upon an abyss of blogs. Everything from the couch potato who is bored with their life to the health-obsessed nut (pun intended...haha), and of course everything in between. I am not bored with my life whatsoever but I want to share my stories and trials of life and I hope that people can join me along the way.

So here goes. Hello blogosphere!
